Cooroy-Industrial

2019

Located in Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast, this industrial development reimagines the traditional shed typology through a considered architectural approach. The design explores how simple commercial buildings can be elevated through form, proportion and the use of negative space, creating a more engaging experience across the site. Large roof overhangs, articulated voids and batten screening introduce depth, shading and ventilation, while drawing on subtropical design principles. The flexible tenancies are designed to accommodate a range of uses, with natural light, cross ventilation and views to the surrounding landscape enhancing internal environments. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform a standard industrial brief into a refined, functional and commercially successful outcome.
